Tiffinni A. Young was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, attended the Law Magnet High School and is a proud graduate of Lincoln Humanities/Communications Magnet High School and Florida A & M University (B.A. Political Science). Tiffinni attended the University of Arkansas School of Law for two years and spent her last year of law school as a visiting student at Texas A & M University School of Law.
Ms. Young was appointed to the inaugural City of Dallas Youth Commission in 1994 and later appointed to the Park & Recreation Board. The values instilled in her by her family and her faith, her love of community and passion for people led her to enlarge her commitment of service and run for public office. Councilwoman Young served on the Dallas City Council and led as Vice Chair of the following committees: Ad Hoc Judicial Nominations, Quality of Life & Environment and Co-Chair of the Domestic Violence Task Force and as a member of the Public Safety, Housing and Legislative Ad Hoc committees. Councilwoman Young also served as a member of the Council on Youth, Education and Families and the Public Safety and Crime Prevention Committee for the National League of Cities.
She continues to serve the community as an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., a lifetime NAACP member, board member for the Maurine F. Bailey Cultural Foundation and trustee for Baylor Scott & White Health & Wellness Center. With over 20 years of experience in the areas of politics, government/community affairs, nonprofit management and sports/entertainment, she serves as the CEO of TAY Strategies, LLC, a boutique consulting firm with a focus on public affairs, social impact and helping athletes and artists connect with communities that they play and perform in. Ms. Young has appeared on national media outlets including Law & Crime Network, MSNBC and Roland Martin Unfiltered. Her dedication to community and compassion for people has shaped her call and commitment to make Dallas a better city, Texas a better state and our country the best it can be, one person at a time.
